	The department of Physical education started functioning on 1-7-67,with the appointment of Sri,PA Mohammad Ali as junior lecture in physical education.From the initial facilities of a 200 mts track,Volley Ball court and Kabaddi court,the department is now equipped with a full fledged stadium having a 400mts track,a Foot Ball stadium of International Standard,wrestling mattresses and a mini gymnasium.

	T.Basheer university record holder in 10000mts,Janardharan M.K,state record holder in 5000mts,Ranji Trophy player Mohammed Afzal,Indian University Cross Country team member K.Rajagopalan, south Indian Wrestling champion,Kammappa Noufal,Praveen Chacko,Mohammad Anfal,All india Inter University Football Champion Illyas V. and Mohammad Haris TV werw our products during this period.The well known Athletic coach V.Padmanaban,Foot Ball coach PH.Beerankutty and more than 30 physical education teachers who are at present working in the near by school and Colleges were once star sports men of this institution.
